Obsidian Designs is a small, niche 3D printing business based in Ontario, Canada. All of our products are designed, produced, and shipped in-house. We focus on functional, thoughtfully designed parts that prioritize durability, clean aesthetics, and real-world usability.
Because every item is made to order, lead times may vary depending on the time of year, order volume, and product complexity. We believe this approach allows us to maintain consistent quality while offering designs that are purpose-built, rather than mass-produced.
Quality & Manufacturing Standards
We take pride in the quality of the products we produce. No item will ship with structural defects or issues that compromise its intended function. Each part is inspected before shipment to ensure it meets our standards for strength and usability.
Due to the nature of 3D printing, minor cosmetic variations can occur. These may include subtle layer lines, surface texture differences, or slight visual artifacts. We actively work to minimize these effects through material selection, print orientation, and post-processing where applicable.
As part of our quality standard, we allow for up to 10% cosmetic variance that does not affect the performance, durability, or fit of the product. Items within this tolerance are considered acceptable and will ship as finished goods.
Terms of Sale
- All products are manufactured using additive manufacturing (3D printing) and may exhibit minor visual imperfections inherent to the process.
- Cosmetic imperfections within the stated tolerance are not considered defects.
- Structural defects or functional issues will not be shipped.
- Lead times may vary and are estimated at the time of order.
- By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and accepts the characteristics of 3D printed products as described above.
Returns & Warranty Policy
Due to the custom and made-to-order nature of our products, all sales are considered final.
We do not accept returns or exchanges for:
- Cosmetic imperfections within stated tolerances
- Buyer’s remorse
- Fitment issues caused by incorrect measurements or assumptions
- Damage resulting from misuse, modification, or installation error
However, if your order arrives with a structural defect or a functional issue that prevents normal use, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with clear photos and a description of the issue. If the issue is confirmed to be the result of a manufacturing defect, we will offer, at our discretion:
- A replacement part, or
- A partial or full refund
We do not require customers to ship defective items back unless explicitly requested. Any replacement or refund decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
